Network Audio

Network Audio is a unique system solution for audio distribution over IP. The solution consists of both server side software and client side dedicated hardware to provide a fully managed distribution system. Typical scenarios/applications for the use of this technology are;

  • in-store radio
  • hotel radio
  • LAN radio

The solution has an emphasis on reliability, and is designed to work specifically with clients operating 24/7 over DSL/ADSL links which are invariably unstable. The solution overcomes key problems with all other streaming devices on the market by;

  • Using smart dedicated hardware - Client side hardware consists of a small solid state unit (measuring just 77mm x 43mm X 21mm) which is; physically robust, does not 'crash' or require 'resetting' under any circumstances, and cannot be tampered with locally. Further the client side unit understands the data stream and so can handle corrupt connections and bad data being delivered to it, and utilising Steady-Stream technology, dynamically processes and adjusts playback of the stream to prevent under-runs or excessive buffering over extended time periods.
  • Using custom server software providing central management of clients - Custom server software enables both the monitoring of individual client side units within an estate and enables the pre-processing of audio data streams as they enter the Network Audio system.
