Network Audio
Immediately, the Network Audio system removed the client side reliability issues. However the undetermined network problems remained. C21, through the use of the Network Audio central management system, was then able to identify the cause of the undetermined network problems which the customer then fixed, thus providing a reliable network infrastructure for their in-store radio.
The customer also benefited longer term from the centrally managed system, as they are able to diagnose the majority of support issues over the phone.
"we usually get a couple of calls a week regarding units not working within a store. Previously this would have meant trying to get a store assistant to go though a checklist of things after which we would invariably have to get an engineer out to the store. He would then find that the unit had been unplugged, or the audio/network cable had been disconnected by mistake, or someone had turned the volume down. Now we can centrally check whether individual units are on line, the channel and volume settings and so engineer visits are a rarity. In fact we often know when a store is down before they do! We have been in the in-store radio business for some years - this system just works"
Customers have also been able to take advantage of integration add-ons to the Network Audio system. For example, they have built in unit and stream status monitoring into their own help desk support software, as well as automated confidence monitoring of 'live' streams.
