Wireless 2.4GHz Radio Solutions (Zigbee)

C21 offer modular wireless solutions aimed at battery powered point to point, and point to multi-point communications link requirements. Features include; very small footprint, easy link configuration, flexible operation, high speed bidirectional error corrected data links, fully addressable nodes, low power, modular design, and simple interfacing.

Backgound Information
2.4GHz radio solutions are now readily available in the market place, and members of the Zigbee Alliance offer a plethora of solutions and modules adhering to the Zigbee standards. This technology is well suited to low power end nodes linked to a powered infrastructure. However, many applications areas require two or three battery powered nodes to be temporarily linked together to form a mini-network, and require several of these mini-networks to operate simultaneously, or must allow nodes to hop between mini networks, under user control in an instant. See the article; Zigbee, The Wireless Panacea? for more information regarding ZigBee technology.

Example Scenario
A portable data gathering system consisting of a data collection device (a hand held device used to acquire samples from an industrial process), a data recording device or data logger console (used to record samples as they are collected), and a bridging device to allow the transfer of data from the recording device to a PC for further processing. Each set of equipment is used several times a day by different factory personnel, throughout the factory.
